Half-day Academic Conference on the “Annulment and Enforcement from a comparative law perspective”
This conference aims at comparing enforcement and annulment within the following selected countries: Belgium, France, Switzerland, England and Germany.
The panelists will give an insight of the enforcement and annulment proceedings within their respective country and the recent trends in this regard. Their view and presentation will be discussed interactively with a comparative perspective.
The distinguished panelists are the following :
- For Belgium: Caroline Verbruggen, Judge of the Brussels Court of Appeal
- For France: Detlev Kuehner, Partner, MBH Avocats, Paris
- For Switzerland: Catherine Anne Kunz, Counsel, Lalive, Geneva
- For England: Remy Gerbay, Counsel, MoloLamken, New York
- For Germany: Simon Manner, Partner, Manner Spangenberg, Hamburg
The first part of the conference will deal with general topics (such as the enforcement and annulment proceedings as such and the interaction between enforcement and annulment proceedings), while more specific selected issues (such as public order in annulment and enforcement) will be discussed during the second part after the coffee break.
The discussion among the panelists will be moderated by the eminent Prof. Gerard Meijer, Partner at NautaDutilh Amsterdam and Professor at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Prof. Meijer will also close this event by some conclusive remarks, taking into account its own legal background and the recent trends in its country.
The conference as such will take place from 1:00 to 6:30 pm. It will be preceded by a networking walking lunch from 12:00 to 13:00.
A book with the panelists’ written contributions will be published and available on the day of the conference.
