Professional experience:

Matthew Happold specialises in international law and dispute settlement. Professor of Public International Law at the University of Luxembourg since 2010, he has published eight books and over thirty academic articles and book chapters, including in the areas of international arbitration (and its relationship with EU law), State immunity and economic sanctions.

Matthew also practises as a barrister (Bar of England and Wales) from chambers in London, and sits as a Recorder (a part-time judge) on civil and criminal cases.

Experience with arbitration:

Matthew advises governments, corporations and individuals on issues in international arbitration and general public international law. He is available for appointment as an arbitrator.
